A prequel story that sheds more light on Tatsuya and Miyuki’s past begins! Background Three years ago, an event occurred in Okinawa that changed their relationship drastically. The two of them are so close it almost seems like they’re a couple at times, but until just a few years ago, their relationship was very different and more closely resembled that of a master and servant. One of them is an inferior student with a fatal flaw as a magician, while the other is an honor student praised for her perfect magic abilities. In April 1945, two siblings, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, are admitted to the National University of Magic’s First High School. During these uncertain times, a little bit of entertainment goes a long way and Funimation is remaining committed to doing just that for the anime community.A century has passed since magic became a part of everyday life. This is coming hot off the heels of Funimation’s announcement that brought the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl movie to their streaming service. Miyuki will be starting as an elite Course 1 student whereas Tatsuya, because he’s stricken by a certain deficiency, will be a Course 2 student as an “irregular.” Admired by her fellow students, Miyuki worships only Tatsuya, causing him to draw the ire of the Course 1 students.
